The landlady
Billy Weaver, a seventeen year old guy went to Bath. When he arrived, he started looking for a place to sleep. A man advised him to go to “The Bell and Dragon”. On his way he noticed a house with the words Bed and Breakfast. He went to the door and pressed the bell and immediately a woman opened the door. Billy asked the price a night. It was very cheap and he said he wanted to stay. When Billy came in his room he noticed that everything was ready for someone to get in. Before Billy went to bed he wrote his name in the guest book in the sitting room. there were only two other names in the book; Mr. Mulholland and Mr.Temple. Billy knew for sure he has heard those names before. He thinks he read them in a newspaper. The landlady came in with tea. Billy told her the names sounds familiar to him. Than The landlady gave Billy a cup of tea. He looked at the dead animals and saw that they are perfectly stuffed. She told him she did it. Billy asked her when to two other men left. She said they haven’t left yet and that they’re still at the third floor… Later he asked if there were no other more guests the last two years. No she said, only you.

William and Mary
William and Mary are a married couple who did not have the best relationship. William was a very controlling husband, and what he said went. Mary did not like this so much.
William had passed away, and Mary had been to the solicitor to collect her husband’s will. After the reading, Mary got up to leave but was stopped by the solicitor, who gave her a letter that he said had been posted to them before he died.
Mary, knowing her husband, expected it to be a formal letter telling her not to worry about his death and that everything will be ok for her. But then she thought it might be a love letter, with him pouring his heart out to her about how much he loved her and how much he appreciated all the housework, cleaning, ironing and cooking that she had done for him. She was very hesitant to open it.
She eventually opened it, and to her surprise it was not a heart-wrenching letter, but a letter about his death. The old man knew he was dying and he had been approached by his friend Landy who wanted to perform an operation on him after he had passed on. The letter explained the whole process in detail. It told of how Landy had come to see William often at the hospital and how that he had been working on this new experiment with the human brain. Landy had found a way to keep a brain still alive after the rest of the body had died. Due to the ailing of William, Landy thought that he would be the perfect person to test on, as he had only worked on animals before hand.
William was very against the idea at the start and wanted no part of it, but after a lot of persuasion from Landy, William finally came around and allowed Landy to perform his experiment. It was decided that he would keep his brain and also one eye.
William told of the process and described by Landy and that after she had finished reading the letter that she should ring Landy and come and see if the experiment was successful.
Mary decided to ring Landy, and he told her that the experiment was very successful and that everything had gone to plan, and that she was more than welcome to come and see him. So Mary organised her things and went.
When she got there, Landy warned her that she might not like what she was going to see. She went in and saw his brain and eye, and she ended up being ok with it, and actually enjoyed the fact that he was so helpless. Mary decided that she would like to do the one thing that William hated – so she smoked and blew all the smoke into his one eye. Mary loved the fact that she could do all of this and he could not answer back. She loved it so much that she wanted to have William home with her.
