I've chosen to copy this passage, because it was so exciting. When I read it, I couldn't stop, it was so thrilling. Mengele is a very Nazi, he has made 94 Hitler-clones. Liebermann has got wind of it, so Mengele wants to kill him. They are at the parental-home of one of the boys. Mengele had shot Liebermann already, but four Dobermans (dogs) had attacked Mengele. He tries to calm them. At the second page the boy comes in. Mengele tries to convince him he is good and Liebermann is bad. But after a while the boy doesn't believe him and he lets the dogs kill him, and Liebermann survives.
What I liked about the book is, is the thrilling story. It begins with the fact that there is a meeting and six SS-ers have to kill the fathers of the Hitler-clones. Only when the clone lives in the same circumstances as the 'parent', he will be exactly the same. When Hitler was 14 years old, his father died, so 94 'fathers' (the boys are adopted) have to die.
I liked it too that it is based on real facts. Some things that Nazi-men had done during The Second World War, was mentioned in the book. The Mengele had really existed (with another name). Hitler has tried to make clones of himself.
The abundance of names I didn't like. There were very names mentioned, so I mixed it up sometimes. That was the only negative thing of the book.
I liked the boy (Bobby Winston) at the end of the book. He stayed very cool. At first he believed Mengele, but after a while he saw through him. He was very smart, because Mengele had a very true-looking story and Liebermann couldn't talk.
I didn't like Mengele, because it is a Nazi, and I don't like Nazi's. Mengele is a member of The Organisation. When they get wind of the things Liebermann knows, they decide to call all six men back. Mengele wants all fathers to be killed and decides to kill them on his own. I think he's crazy.
The three most important things of the book are:

• The 94 fathers have to be killed
• The fact that Liebermann finds out what Mengele is doing
• The investigations of Liebermann. He gets at the beginning a very vague story of a man who has heard Mengele speaking. But then Mengele catches the man. At first Liebermann doesn't understand it, but little by little he finds out the truth.

A problem is that Liebermann knows a little (at first) about the plans of Mengele. The problem is that nobody can tell him why the men are being killed. He has to find out it on his own. I think he has done it very well, because he finds out why, exactly. I'd have done it that way too.

Mengele deed me denken aan Hitler. Hitler had in de Tweede Wereldoorlog ook geprobeerd klonen van hemzelf te maken en Mengele heeft dat nu gedaan. Hij wilde net zo worden als Hitler en ook dat er een nieuw Duits rijk kwam, net zo als Hitler.
Ik denk dat de schrijver geen nazi is. Hij 'liet' Mengele sterven, en Liebermann liet Mengele's plan in het water lopen. De diepere bedoeling is denk ik dat er geen nieuwe Hitler de kop op moet steken. Hij wil benadrukken dat we de Tweede Wereldoorlog niet herhalen, dat we er wat van geleerd hebben. Dat heb ik er ook van geleerd, dat de Tweede Wereldoorlog zich niet mag herhalen.
Ik zou wel willen weten hoe het nu verder loopt. Het verhaal heeft een open einde. Het einde met de gedachten van zo'n Hitler-kloon. Hij wil graag voor een groot publiek staan en hun dan toespreken. En ook dat ze hem dan nadoen en dat ze doen wat hij wil. Het boek eindigt met de zin 'Sort of like in those old Hitler movies'.
Bij het gedeelte dat Mengele Liebermann met een pistool had geschoten, werd ik wel verdrietig. Liebermann kwam bij mij over als een aardige man, ik vond het jammer dat hij nu misschien doodging. Ook kon Mengele ongestoord verder gaan met zijn droom.
Ik zou niks willen veranderen aan het boek. Het boek was echt fantastisch.
Wat ik aan de schrijver zou willen vragen, is hoe hij de Tweede Wereldoorlog heeft meegemaakt. Misschien was hij wel jood, of misschien een nazi. Dat zou ik wel willen weten.
