What type/ category of book / story is this?
I think a classic story. It’s going about 150 years ago. And it’s a little bit a trill and ofcourse is it’s a historic roman.

What century / movement is it from?
It’s from the 19th century, exactly 1852.

What are the most important theme (s)?
The most important theme is the case jarndyce and jarndyce. That’s where the whole story goes about. But the secret of lady Dedlock and the whole thing about Esther is very important too. Who was Esther’s mother? What was the disgrace? And why did the ghost walk at Chesney Wold?

Who are the main character(s)?
The most important person in the story is Esther Summerson. She’s about 20 years old and very pretty.
Other main characters are:
• Ada Clare. She also 20 years old and has a young face.
• Richard Carstone. He’s very pretty too and has black hair.
• Lady Dadlock. She’s about 40 years old and has black hair too.
• John Jarndyce. He’s about 60 years old and has grey hair.

Where is the story located?
The story is located in London. But the most of time in the story the persons are in Bleak house.

In what period is the story set?
It starts in de winter. It’s cold, peoples die, and in the story you can see it toward Jo. But later in the book is it summer and later winter again.

Is this a good book to read? Why do you think so?
Yes, I think so. It’s not too difficult and not too easy. I like the whole think about Esther. She was gave away trough her mother. And now, she want to know who her mother is. It’s very beautiful to read. The lovelies thing in the whole story was that the mother of Esther dies near the grave of her lover.

Would you like others to read it? Why?
Yes, I would. It’s a beautiful story with many different things. It’s very stringent to read. You want to know how it comes to an end with the case of jarndyce and jarndyce and many other things. (In the front of the book is a glossary for the words you don’t know.)

What is the most crusial passage / episode, do you think?
The secret of Lady Dedlock. She tells Esther that she is the mother of Esther.
Servant Horstense tell a lie. She hates Lady Dedlock and because she care mean for her. This is a very important thing in the book I think. It’s a crusial passage. ‘Your mother, Esther, was your disgrace and you are hers.’

Which character in the story do you dislike?
I don’t like servant Horstense because she always lie. I find her the evilest person in the book.

What is your favourite character in the story?
My favorourite character in the story is Esther Summerson. It’s amusing to read about her. She’s an orphan and accept her live. She don’t know her mother. Later in the book she met her mother, but than Esther is ill. After Esther knows the true about her mother, she have to looked for her mother with the police. But when she have founded her mother, she is died. I love her because she is very strong in the book.

Compare it to the other books you have read. Any differences?
I haven’t read a much books this year. But a year ago I have read some English books. I don’t know if there are so much differences. This is maybe a little bit defaulter to realize. But of the rest I don’t think that there are so many differences.
