Title : The Boys From Brazil
Genre : Thriller
Title explanation : The Nazi’s had cloned little Hitlers, many of them actually, and the boys came from Brazil

Reading task number 1:

Of course there were some points where I should have reacted quite different, but that actually is quite logic, because I am no Nazi.

One strong example:
Almost at the end of the book dr. Mengele is waiting for Yakov Lieberrman at the house of someone who he had just killed. He disguised himself so Lieberrman wouldn’t recognised him. He lets Lieberrman in, and guide him to the living room, after a while he pulls a gun, and aim it at Lieberrman. That is exactly what I shouldn’t have done, just because I am no nazi. I actually guide him inside, fully proud that a man like Lieberrman wanted to visit me. I should be really honoured to have him in my house and would probably ask as many as I could. That is just one of the big difference between a nazi and a student like me.

Another example when I should react different actually is at the very beginning of the book:
The young man which had a tape of the meeting of the nazi’s and knew what they were planning. This man called Yakov Lieberrman immediately when he arrived on his hotel room. He was just planning to let Lieberrman listen to the tape, when somebody knocked on the door. The man was pissed that it happened just at that time, but he actually did open the door, dr. Mengele and his man came in and killed the boy. This is the greatest mistake, I rather not like to make when I was in his shoes. Of course it is just an easy talk when you only read the book, but I should take care of getting out the country as soon as possible, and change from hotel, these man were high trained professionals. I would try to get away as soon as possible.

Reading task number 3:
The personage which interested me most, was the young Hitler boy. You could see he actually had some of Hitler; Hitler was aggressive boy, you were able too see it in the action of the boy, he was mad and angry because the story of dr Mengele and he let the dogs kill him. Further he looked like Hitler with his sharp nose and the pale skin, and the deep blue eyes he had. This is the one and only ‘’little Hitler’’ in the whole book who you get to know better. And especially because he helps Lieberrman, one of the biggest enemy’s of the followers of Hitler himself. He looked very responsible and actually was clever too, he forced Lieberrman to swear he wouldn’t tell the police what he had done. He made up a story about the dogs were so angry, he couldn’t call them back on time.

The boy wanted to become a big moviemaker and was most of the time shooting movies when he wasn’t busy with school. He rushed to get his camera to record Lieberrman go in the ambulance, and to make a shot of a dead Mengele with a blanket over his body. His recordings were used for many of the international news reports, because he was the one who had taken the best shots, maybe the only shots of everything.

He also reacted almost emotionless on the death of his father, he stayed very calm under it, really respect, but maybe it also is scary.

Reading task number 4:

The story has a view main points. These points can be used to split the story in a view main points.

Main point 1:

This begins with the boy who record the nazi meeting. It ends when the boy is killed by dr Mengele himself and when he lays the phone down on the hook. I’ve chosen this as first part because it is the introduction to the real story. The book stands on this first part of the book, from here, the book develops into the real story and makes the story much wider.

Main point 2:

This begins when Lieberrman is visiting some old friends of him, and really start to think about the phone call, he had picked up enough to get interested in it. He let some friends of him check special cases of accidents in a view country’s from man between 64-66. This part ends when he gets a call from another young student, the student which was sceptic about his presentation at the university and wanted to know more about the case and help Lieberrman with it.

Main point 3:

This begins when Lieberrman and the young students are going to investigate some of the cases of deaths of some man, the most logical cases. He visits several wives of the killed men. It ends when they discover that the son’s of these people are almost similar to each other.

Main point 4:

This starts when Lieberrman and the student are going to visit a professor which thinks how to explain these boys to be the same, and the nazi activity around it. Lieberrman calls some people, and they also say they’ve seen some boys which looked exactly the same. It is all clear to Lieberrman, he has to take risks now. It ends when Lieberrman is brought over to the hospital and Mengele is dead.

I think this where the main points of the book, it starts by point 1 and get more and more extended, and finally you get the clou of the story.
