Why did you choose this book?
I chose this book because I read all of the Potter books. I’m a big fan and I wanted to know how the story would end.

What where your expectations?
I expected this book to be very exciting. It’s the last book of the Harry Potter series, so everything is coming to an ending. I heard some of the main characters were going to die. I was very curious who would die and how they would come to their end. When I finished the book I felt rather sad, because it’s the last book and I want to read more! It’s a good book, lots of thrilling events and unexpected turns. It’s a long story, but it succeed in keeping my attention.

Summary
The action begins with Harry’s departure from the Dursley’s. When members of the order of the phoenix escort Harry to a safe house, they are attacked by Death Eaters. Harry narrowly escapes

We follow Harry, Ron and Hermione on a quest through the English country side, hiding from Death Eaters and in search of Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes. Horcruxes are objects containing parts of Voldemort’s soul. They must find Salazar Slytherin’s Locket, Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem and Helga Huffeluff’s Cup.

The action then turns to the mystery of the Deathly Hallows, a trio of legendary relics that have fascinated curious wizards for ages. Including Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindlewald.

As soon as Harry destroyed all of the Horcruxes the action comes to a climax at the battle of Hogwarts. Blood is sped and lives are lost. But then Harry heard that he’s a Horcruxe himself. And Voldemort has to kill him before Voldemort can die. Harry let Voldemort curse him, but Harry doesn’t die. He duels with Voldemort and defied him.

Nineteen years later Harry and Ginny are married and have children. They bring their son to King’s Cross station where they meet Hermione and Ron who also have married and have children. The train will bring the kids to Hogwarts.

The main characters
Harry Potter is 17 years old, he’s a wizard and the main character of the book. He must try to kill Voldemort, according to a premonition he’s the only one who has a fighting chance.

Hermione Granger is also 17 years old. She’s a witch and a good friend of Harry. She’s a bright girl and helps Harry to kill Voldemort. She’s easily irritated and that causes friction between Hermione and Ron.

Ron Weasly is a 17 years old wizard. He comes from a big family, they’ve got all red hair and that makes Ron easy to recognize. He’s a bit changeable and doesn’t always listen to good advice. He can be clumsy, but that makes him a funny character. He also helps harry to fight Voldemort. Harry can’t always rely on Ron. During the search of the Horcruxes Ron gets angry and leaves the group. Later he returns and helps Harry destroying a Horcruxe.

Explanation of the title
The Deathly Hallows are three objects: the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone and the Invisibility Cloak. The person who unites the Hallows has the ability to defeat death. In the book Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindlewald are trying to find the Hallows. Later Voldemort wants to collect them so he can kill Harry and become immortal.

Perspective: he/ she- teller

Time: The events take place in the present, Harry becomes seventeen years old and is born in 1980. There are also phone cells, row houses, televisions etc.

Theme: The battle between good and evil.

Motives: The friendship between Hermione, Ron and Harry. The quest for the Hocruxes is also a motive. And the growth of the characters, it’s a bit a coming of age-novel.
