9. Summary
Eddy is a reporter from the Daily News. He had to write a story about Cathy Chen, a movie star, and Paul Kwok, a famous tennisplayer.
When he visited their house he thought he heard them fighting. Together with some information from old newspapers it made him draw the wrong conclusions.
So the article he wrote was a bad story. He had to do it again.
He met Cathy and discovered the real story. Cathy was blackmailed by Su Lin (an old maid) with some photo’s of Cathy and another man. Cathy didn’t want Paul to see this photo’s because he was a very jealous man.
But Su Lin had already offered them to several newspapers. Cathy asked Eddy to buy the photo’s for her from Su Lin. Eddy was a reporter so Su Lin would think she sold the photo’s to a newspaper. But instead of placing them in the newspaper, Eddy would give them to Cathy. Eddy promised Cathy to do it.
Eddy told Mr. Lee, who wanted the photo’s as well, he paid for them himself and threw them away. But he gave them to Cathy.
Mr Lee was so angry, that he gave Eddy a bad job at the Daily News.
But after a few weeks Eddy was asked by Cathy to write about her secret wedding with Paul. Mr. Lee placed the article and he promoted Eddy to become a special reporter.
