Time: After the Second World War
Place: in front of London
Main Characters: George Smiley is the detective, he found out who was the murderer.
Mr Fennan is murdered.
Elsa Fennan was his wife.
Dieter Frey was the murderer.

Outline of the story
George Smiley was married with Lady Ann, but she left him. Then had Smiley a meeting in the park with Samuel Arthur Fennan. There they were spied! But they didn’t know. The following night the police rang Smiley up to say that Fennan had kill himself. Smiley went to Fennans house, there was Fennans wife (Elsa Fennan). When he came in the phone rang. It was at 8:30 hours. Smiley didn’t believe that Fennan had kill himself, because Fennan had made a hot drink to himself and hadn’t finished his drink. When Smiley went home he saw a man at his door, he didn’t know who he was. Smiley went to a garage, the owner of the garage was Adam Scarr, 3 weeks later he was found in a river. Before his dead, Fennan worked for Dieter Frey. Dieter saw Fennan and Smiley talking in the park, (he was the spy). Smiley and Mendal had a plan. Smiley send Dieter a card to come to the theatre and Elsa too. Elsa went to the theatre. The seat on her right was empty. Dieter came to the theatre too, and sat by Elsa. But Dieter realised he was trapped. He killed Elsa and left the theatre. Smiley saw it and following Dieter. He found Dieter by the river. They fought and Dieter fell in the water, he was dead!

What I liked: You never know who the murderer was to the last pages.

What I didn’t like: It was difficult to write this in English. And it was difficult to read it.
And there were many people murdered in the story.
