Feb 11-April 12:
1. What three reasons are there for Mandy to answer Tracey’s advertisement?
- it’s a boring Sunday
- everyone is out
- she thought it would be something different
2. What strikes Mandy in Tracey’s address ?
Tracey has a post-office box.
3. During the Power without Glory concert, Mandy thinks of Tracey. Why ?
Because Tracey had a semi-final basketball game that Sundy, it was a very big game. Mandy crossed her fingers for Tracey.
4. What fact does Mandy mention in connection with the Greek exchange student ?
The Greek exchange student from Prescott Hight, the same school that she thought Tracey goes to, didn’t know Tracey.

5. What could be said about Mandy’s father’s age ?
He is too young to have fought in WW 2 and too old to have fought in Vietnam.
6. Who is Tracey’s new boyfriend ?
Greg, he is big and blond, all muscle.

8. What is Tracey’s essay about ?
It’s called : ‘Keep on going till it al stops Flowin’. It’s about Tracey’s nanna, because that’s what het life was like. Her nanna kept fighting away, twenty-four hours a day, never giving up, till she broke her hip. It wrecked Tracey when she died.
9. Why does Tracey suddenly react after Mandy sent her a postcard?
Tracey writes that mandy should stop hassling her. She writes : ‘Leave me alone. Can’t you take a hint ?’ Mandy must not send her any more postcards, because the people there read them. Tracey wants Mandy to get out of her life.
10. What job do Mandy’s mother and father have ?
Her mother is a reference librarian at the State Library and her father is a wardsman at ST Francis’ Hospital.
11. Where does Tracey live ?
Tracey lives in Garett, a juvenile prison. This is a maximum security place. She’s in A-block.

12. How does Tracey want Mandy to celebrate the prize she won ?
She wants Mandy to get a bottle of Champagne and drink it for her, to celebrate. With some friends, if Mandy wants, but she is not allowed to tell why she is drinking Champagne. Then write about it.
13a. Who is Raz ?
Tracey tells that it is Raz’s fault that she got put in garett. Raz taught her how to fight, he
was a kind of friend. He went psycho.
13b. We met Raz before. What was his name then ?
Blue. He was a guy with a bike and a gang. Later, it turned out that he didn’t have a gang
nor a bike, but only her.

14. Why is Katrina home a lot ?
Katrina has been home a lot, because she is getting paranoid about her exams and says this is the only place she can study.
15. What did Mandy tell her parents one night ?
She told her parenst about Tracey and that they have been writing eachother, but when she told the truth it turned out that Tracey is in Garett.
16. What amazing information do we get about Mandy’s father ?
Mandy’s father got put in a place like Garett or Ruxton for six weeks. Her was only 15. He got caught knocking off bikes and selling them.
17. What happened when Tracey was in medical unit ?
Mandy rang Tracey when tracey was in Medical Unit.
18. What advice did Tracey get from the psychologist ?
That she should go on a thing called the Anger Control Programme.

19. What was in the newspaper clippings Tracey’s grandmother kept in the wardrobe ?
The newspaper clippings were about Tracey’s father. Het got put in jail for 18 years beacause he had murdered Tracey’s mother.
20. What did Steve have that frightened Mandy ?
Steve has got a .22 and a shotgun that his grandpa left him. He uses them for rabbit-shooting, although he hasn’t been for a while. But he spends a lot of time cleaning the guns and taking them apart, it scares Mandy.
21. For what reason is Tracey’s basketball team not allowed to play in a competition anymore ?
They got chucked out for rough play and swearing and all that stuff.
22. What book is Tracey going to read ?
Diary of Anne Frank.
23. Why doesn’t Mandy write back, you think ?
I think Steve hurt her. Maybe he even killed Mandy, because he had the guns and the guts to do it. He always hits Mandy for nothing.
