Is there anything behind the story?: Yes, you should never be greedy because that always bring bad luck and then you’ll be very unhappy.
Is it a fact or fiction?: Fiction, something like that can’t happen in real life.

Chapter 1 The Wish = The wife of King Midas had died but she had left him a child called Delia. The King has a wish there where ever he is everthing is made out of gold. One days when he walks in his garden there is an magician present. He says he can’t make everthing gold but he can do it so that what ever the king touches turns into gold but to get that he hase to give the magician something so he gives him the best new red roses he made and the magician made it so that everthing that the King touched turns into gold. After the magician has done this he vanished.
Chapter 2 Gold = The King is very pleased in the beginning because everthing turns into gold. But some time later it begins to annoy hin and he wants to eat. But he can’t eat because his food turns into gold food. He asks one of his staff members to feed him but he wont because he is scared he will turn into gold as soon as the King touches him.He runs off scared saying the King is bewitched.
Chapter 3 The Price = Delia doesn’t know what has happend to the king but as soon as she comes home after school and hase done her homework she is ready for bed. Normally her father would come in to tuck her in. But now Biffpot came in she asked why her father didn’t came and Biffpot told he had a cold. When Delia can’t sleep she decides to bring him a hot-water bottle en takes of his gluves and takes his hand to put unther the covers.
Chapter 4 The Quest Begins = As the King wakes up the next mornig he scares himslef to death becease there is Delia all turned into gold. The King goed outside and in his mind he thinkes that he hates gold and he says a spell the magician shows up and the King beggs the magician to reverse the spell. The magician will do this if the King promises to let him marry his little girl when he becomes 18. The King thinks about it and finally agrees. But the magician tells him he hase to get some sort of an flower because else he can’t reverse the spell just as The King wants to ask where he can find it he leaves and the magician says : the as-birds know.
Chapter 5 Old Gollop = The King suddenly remembers that the ash birds came out of the cigar of the magician. When he wants to pich up the cigar he remembers himslef he can’t or else it will turn into gold. So his does this with his mouth.When there falls some ash out a ash bird leds him to a river to dispell him but he finds out he can only touch something if his hands are wet.Old Gollop is dried out by a spell from a wich. So The King goed into a dry hill to find the witch.
Chapter 6 The Witch’s Cave = The King plays a competition with a mumbo that he wins. When he walks futher into the cave he meets the witch. He tells her his problemand she gives him tea. At first he doesn’t want to drink itbut as he does he feels a bit sleepy. When the friendly witch throws another log into the fireplace the fire changes color and so does the witch. Then The King falls into an unnatural sleep.
Chapter 7 The Mumbo = The King becomes friends with the Mumbo and The King tells the mumbo he can stay with him if he helps him with his plans so he does and they found a purple good to reverse the spell. They also found a flandy-bake that comes very in handy because that is what the need to make Old Gollop run again so the hurrie outside the hill and run away to Old Gollop.
Chapter 8 Flight By Moonlight = The King and the Mumbo hurry to Old Gollop. The witch does a trick to find them but it doesn’t work. When they arrive at Old Gollop they throw the flandy-bakes in Old Gollop and he starts to flow again. The Mumbo almost meets his doom but The King touches the Mumbo to save him and suddenly forgets his spell!
Chapter 9 Gone For Ever = The Mumbo isn’t gold because Old Gollop despeld him. Old Gollop tells The King the witch can’t touch his water because then she will die. So The King goed to her al wet and takes him with her in the water and so she dies. Together with the cat and the Mumbo The King goed home. On the way they also despel the cow with the purple stuff from the witch. As soon as The King returns home he runs upstairs but Delia is gone!
Chapter 10 Under The Palace = The King has an eidea how he can find Delia. He takes some stuff from the witch and puts it on his dog Stray and says he must go and find Delia. He searched every where were The King has also searched. Then The King sreams for Biffpot and he heard something comming from the cellar. Biffpot was hidding in the cellaar from the witch. And he has Delia with him. He puts some drops on her and she comes to live.
Chapter 11 Return Of The Magician = The King has returned everthing to normal again but he wants to make roses again but he can’t because the magician has taken that from him for giving him the touch of gold. When The King tells him he murderd the witch and has left some magic potion the magician ask if he can have some to drink. The King gives it to him and suddenly Delia comes runnig and saying that she needs some more potion to save her bird the magician gives her his last drop and she gives him a kiss. The old man starts to change into a young man and leaves because The King has said he could have the potion if he leaved.
Delia is very happy and they live happely ever after.
